Skoda Phase

I am a runner. I am a minimal shoe runner.  For years I wore one of the original versions of the Nike Free.  And I mean years, I got 8 years out of them.  At the end there was no tread left and the fabric was all ripped up but they were great.  I finally decided it was time to retire them and when I went looking for some new shoes I went to my go-to folks, Huckberry.com.
After a little browsing and checking what they had in my size I decided on the Skora Phase.  First impressions upon receiving them?  I liked the fit and I hated the colors, orange and blue.  I usually opt for a neutral color when it comes to clothing but what are you going to do when you get a good deal?
After the first test run and having to stop and tie my laces, on both feet, several times in a small 5 mile run I was feeling a bit frustrated.  I don't know why they kept coming undone but I had enough and switched them out for some different laces when I got back to the house.  These too kept coming untied on the next couple of runs and it is my guess it has something to do with the way the asymetric lacing system and my stride interact.  In the end I just ended up twisting up the tie loops and tucking them into the laces.  Problem solved.
After about a month of 15-20 miles a week I noticed that there was some wear happening on the outside of the fabric covering my pinky toe on the side of the shoe.  What I deduced is that my extra wide foot was in a toe box too small.  Nothing to be done about that.
I have been running in these shoes for about 9 months and I really enjoy them.  I just don't know how long they will hold up with the fabric blowing out.
Nonetheless I will give them a 4 of 5 stars.  They would be best for someone with a narrow foot and a correct running gait.  Just not the BEST shoe for a guy with a wide toe box.

Review it

This blog is all about the products sold by Huckberry.com
When ordering products online it is very different than being able to interface with the actual product.  I would like to offer some feedback on those products that I have purchased.

I have been with Huckberry since 2011 (my first order) and have watched them grow into what they are today (2015).  In observing their growth I have been encouraged that they haven't strayed much from their original mission.
